The M.O.C. is at the moment studying with great detail the Associations’ requests and plans for financial assistance for the forthcoming year 2013.
During the month of October, a Chef de Mission Seminar is being held in Mersin in preparation for the Mediterranean Games being held in Mersin, Turkey next year.
The MOC is now looking forward to its next annual event – the MOC Sports Awards 2012 which will be held in the month of December.
The Sports Awards Organising Committee is being chaired by Norman Hamilton and the Chancellor for Hall of Fame is Robert Arrigo MP.
The Sports Awards Organising Committee has been formed and will be starting soon with their meetings to ensure another successful event as in previous years.
Luxembourg GSSE
– ‘Are you ready’
Eighteen long years and eight further successful editions of the Games will have passed when on 27 May 2013, the Opening Ceremony of the 15th edition of the Games of Small States of Europe will start in the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg, bringing the Games for the second time to the “Green heart of Europe.”
Nine countries, with Montenegro participating for the first time, with a complete delegation, will be taking part in this edition of the GSSE Luxembourg 2013.
The NOC of Luxembourg, together with the whole country will work hard to make these Games an unforgettable moment for all participants as in all previous editions.
The slogan for the Luxembiurg Games “Are You Ready”, is an invitation to all involved in the Games, that does not only refer to the athletes and sportsmen, but also to the politicians, the schools and practically the entire population of Luxembourg.
The Executive Committees of all those involved complied to the deadlines, and the general organisation is on schedule. The website and choice of mascot are in the final stages, together with the hotel accommodation and the development of the transport plan.
The Technical Commission in charge met last June to discuss the GSSE Games, and the celebrations for the Centennial Anniversary of Luxembourg’s NOC.
